The Echo Basin Trail is an easy big loop with lots of ungroomed trails and some meadows to play in. There are more advanced areas of riding around the back side of Burnt Ridge.
Dec 2019 Update: Due to logging operations, the first 5 miles will likely be plowed this winter. Riders may want to access this area by turning east on County Rd. L instead of via the traditonal parking area at the forest boundary at the end of Rd 44. This access does require a bit of rider skill as it nears the main loop.
From Durango take U.S. Highway 160 west approximately 24.5 miles to County Road 44. From Mancos, take Hwy 160 2.5 miles east to Road 44. Turn north on County Road 44 and continue about 3.5 miles to the forest boundary.
