About Us

San Juan Sledders Snowmobile Club is a family, fun, and educational non profit organization founded to educate people on fun safe ways to recreate on snowmobiles for the winter season. We host snowmobile safety training classes, avalanche awareness classes, fun days for people with special needs, as well as club rides throughout the winter. We are also responsible for grooming over 300 miles of winter recreation trails from 9 trailheads in 6 Counties, and we serve the communities of Durango, Mancos, Dolores, Rico, Bayfield, Vallecito, and Purgatory. These trails are used for not only for snowmobiling, but also for dog sledding, cross country skiing, fat biking, and snow shoeing. The trails we normally groom are Beaver Meadows, Vallecito Middle Mountain Road, Missionary Ridge, Hermosa Park over Bolam Pass to Barlow Creek, Echo Basin Road & West Mancos. We are actively involved in working with the Forest Service and BLM to keep trails open to all types of recreational use.
