About Us

San Juan Sledders Snowmobile Club is a family, fun, and educational non profit organization founded to educate people on fun safe ways to recreate on snowmobiles for the winter season. We host snowmobile safety training classes, avalanche awareness classes, fun days for people with special needs, as well as club rides. We are responsible for grooming over 300 miles of winter recreation trails from 9 trailheads in 6 Counties, and we serve the communities of Durango, Mancos, Dolores, Rico, Bayfield, Vallecito, and Purgatory. These trails are used for  snowmobiling, dog sledding, cross country skiing, and snow shoeing. Trails we groom are Beaver Meadows, Middle Mountain Road, Miller Mountain Road, Missionary Ridge Road, Hermosa Park over Bolam Pass to Barlow Creek & Across HWY 145 west to Dunton Hot Springs, Echo Basin Road & 80 miles of trails in 2 loops at West Mancos. We are actively involved in working with the Forest Service and BLM to keep trails open to all types of recreational use.
